Woman With Child in Car Rams Police Vehicles While Fleeing

A Dangerous Call Begins in Georgia

A police response in Byron, Georgia, quickly became a chaotic confrontation after officers were alerted to an SUV reportedly being driven recklessly on Georgia Highway 42. According to the documented footage, the caller reported that the vehicle was crossing into oncoming traffic and nearly causing collisions.

Officers Find the SUV Blocked In

When the SUV reached the intersection of Highway 42 and Highway 49, witnesses had already helped block the vehicle. Officers arrived and attempted to speak with the driver, but authorities said she did not cooperate or respond to their commands.

The situation remained tense as officers positioned themselves around the vehicle.

Stop Sticks Are Placed Under the Tires

Police then placed Stop Sticks beneath the SUV's tires. The devices were intended to gradually deflate the tires if the driver attempted to escape.

For several minutes, the vehicle remained in place. But the standoff suddenly changed when the driver began maneuvering the SUV.

The SUV Rams Into Cars and People

According to the incident description, the driver first backed into a vehicle behind her before pulling forward and striking a Byron police officer and a police cruiser. She then reversed again and drove forward, hitting two witnesses and another police vehicle.

Despite having a flat tire from the Stop Sticks, the SUV continued down Highway 49.

Officers Try to Stop the Escape

Police attempted to block the vehicle again, but the driver continued maneuvering around the cruisers. The SUV reportedly backed into a third Byron police vehicle and then struck another police car for a second time, causing significant damage.

The presence of a child inside the vehicle added another serious safety concern. Authorities said the child was not injured during the incident.

The Driver Is Finally Taken Into Custody

After continuing for a short distance, the SUV was eventually boxed in by Byron officers. Police were then able to take the driver into custody and bring the dangerous situation to an end.

The driver was identified as 24-year-old Sierra Hibbert of Warner Robins, Georgia. The Peach County Sheriff's Office handled the subsequent investigation and criminal charges.

A Chaotic Escape Captured on Camera

The footage shows just how quickly a roadside police encounter can escalate. What began with reports of reckless driving turned into repeated collisions involving police vehicles, officers, witnesses, and a fleeing SUV.

Fortunately, the documented account states that no officers or civilians suffered serious injuries and that the child inside the vehicle was also unharmed.
