Police rescue senior dangling from roof

1. A Routine Call Turns Into A Life-Or-Death Rescue

What began as a call for help quickly became a terrifying rescue on the roof of a three-story home in Tampa, Florida.

On December 10, 2025, Tampa police officers responded after an elderly man reportedly slipped while blowing leaves from his roof. Within moments, officers discovered him clinging desperately to the edge, with a potentially devastating fall just below him. (https://www.mysuncoast.com)

2. THE MAN WAS ALREADY IN EXTREME DANGER

According to reports, the man had been using a leaf blower when he lost his footing.

Instead of falling all the way to the ground, he managed to grab onto the roof and hold himself there.

But there was little room for error.

ONE SLIP COULD HAVE TURNED THE RESCUE INTO A TRAGEDY.

3. OFFICERS REALIZE THEY HAVE TO GET TO THE ROOF

Tampa officers Jason Sikoski and Kaleb Girard rushed inside the residence and made their way toward the third floor.

Bodycam footage captures the officers moving quickly toward the roof while trying to reach the stranded man.

There was no time to waste.

4. THEN THEY SEE HIM

When the officers finally reached the roof, they found the elderly man stretched out against the shingles, desperately trying to maintain his grip.

The bodycam perspective makes the height especially difficult to ignore.

HE WAS LITERALLY HANGING OVER THE EDGE OF A THREE-STORY HOME.

5. “I GOT YOU, SIR.”

One officer immediately moved into position and grabbed the man's wrist.

“I got you, sir,” the officer can be heard saying in the bodycam footage.

The man's response showed just how frightening the situation had become:

“I’M GLAD SOMEBODY’S GOT ME.” (WEAR)

6. THE RESCUE REQUIRES PERFECT COORDINATION

The officers carefully secured the man and began pulling him away from the dangerous edge.

The footage shows just how physically demanding the rescue was. The officers had to maintain their grip while helping the man move back onto a safer section of the roof.

Every movement mattered.

7. FINALLY, HE IS BACK ON THE ROOF

After the tense struggle, the officers managed to pull the man completely back onto the roof.

For the first time since they arrived, the immediate danger of him falling over the edge was gone.

A FEW MORE SECONDS COULD HAVE MEANT A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT OUTCOME.

8. BUT THE RESCUE ISN’T OVER YET

Although the man was safely away from the edge, officers still had to get him down from the three-story roof.

Tampa Fire Rescue was called to assist with bringing him safely back to ground level. (https://www.mysuncoast.com)

9. HE SURVIVED THE TERRIFYING ACCIDENT

Reports say the man was not seriously injured in the incident.

After being rescued, he reportedly apologized to the officers, saying he didn't mean to cause all the trouble.

The officers reassured him that helping people in situations like this was exactly why they were there. (WEAR)

10. A BODYCAM RESCUE YOU HAVE TO SEE
