The bodycam footage begins with officers outside a Florida residence as they carry out a search warrant connected to a serious criminal investigation.

The man seen in the footage is David Robert McKeown, a former sixth-grade teacher at United Brethren in Christ Academy in Holly Hill, Florida.

According to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, investigators began looking into McKeown after receiving a cybertip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

3. THE INVESTIGATION STARTED WITH A CYBERTIP

The case began on June 2, 2025, when a Holly Hill Police Internet Crimes Against Children detective received a cybertip concerning a Discord account allegedly being used to share material depicting child sexual abuse.

Investigators identified McKeown as the account holder.

This transformed what initially looked like an online investigation into a much larger case involving a person who worked around children.

4. POLICE SEARCH BOTH HIS HOME AND SCHOOL

On June 20, 2025, Holly Hill police officers and FDLE agents executed a search warrant at McKeown's residence.

According to FDLE, an electronic-storage-detection K9 named Ruby assisted investigators in locating several electronic devices inside the home.

Those devices were seized for forensic examination.

THE INVESTIGATION WAS NO LONGER JUST ABOUT WHAT WAS ONLINE — POLICE WERE NOW COLLECTING PHYSICAL EVIDENCE.

5. THE SCHOOL CONNECTION MAKES THE CASE EVEN MORE SERIOUS

Investigators determined that McKeown was a sixth-grade teacher at UBIC Academy.

Authorities said he downloaded and communicated with other Discord users during school hours while connected to the school's Wi-Fi network.

6. THE ELECTRONIC EVIDENCE BECOMES CRITICAL

In McKeown's case, authorities said multiple electronic devices were seized from both his home and the school.

7. THE ARREST CAME WITHOUT INCIDENT

Holly Hill police arrested McKeown on June 20, 2025.

FDLE reported that he was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Volusia County Jail.

In December 2025, Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier announced that McKeown had been sentenced to 135 years in the Florida Department of Corrections.

The official announcement states that he was convicted of aggravated possession of child sexual abuse images, possession of child sexual abuse images and sexual conduct with an animal.
