According to authorities, a Coweta County deputy attempted to stop a Chrysler 300 on North Highway 29 near Tommy Lee Cook Road on November 13, 2024. Instead of stopping, the driver accelerated away, eventually reaching speeds of about 110 MPH as the pursuit continued into Fulton County. (ajc)

While the vehicle raced down the highway, the pursuing deputy continued behind it.

The bodycam footage captures the remarkable calm of the officer as traffic, speed and danger all collide. What viewers don't know at this point is that the pursuit is heading toward an encounter that will become far more serious than a speeding violation.

3. THE DRIVER REFUSES TO GIVE UP

The driver was later identified by authorities as 23-year-old Jason Andre Wilson of Atlanta.

Officials said Wilson continued fleeing until the pursuit moved into Fulton County. With speeds reaching approximately 110 MPH, deputies were faced with a rapidly escalating situation. (FOX 5 Atlanta)

4. THEN THE DEPUTY MAKES HIS MOVE

Eventually, the deputy used a PIT maneuver to bring the fleeing Chrysler to a stop.

But stopping the car did not end the danger.

The deputy then deployed K-9 Titan to help apprehend the driver. According to authorities, that was when the situation suddenly turned into a gunfight. (Police1)
