Bismarck Officer Shoots Fleeing Woman Who Hit Cop With SUV

A ROUTINE POLICE ENCOUNTER TURNS INTO A CHAOTIC AND DANGEROUS SCENE when a woman reportedly attempts to flee in an SUV after striking an officer. The situation escalates rapidly, with a Bismarck officer ultimately opening fire as the vehicle drives away.

THE ENCOUNTER ESCALATES

AN OFFICER IS REPORTEDLY HIT BY THE SUV. What may have begun as an attempt to detain or question the driver suddenly becomes a serious threat when the vehicle moves toward the officer. The incident unfolds quickly, leaving officers with only moments to react.

THE SUV DRIVES AWAY

THE WOMAN ATTEMPTS TO FLEE THE SCENE. As the SUV pulls away, officers are forced to respond to an unpredictable and potentially dangerous situation. The bodycam footage captures the tense moments surrounding the vehicle's departure and the officer's decision to use his firearm.

SHOTS FIRED

THE OFFICER OPENS FIRE AS THE VEHICLE FLEES. The shooting raises important questions about what the officer perceived in those critical seconds, the position of the SUV, and whether anyone else was in immediate danger.

The exact sequence of events, the woman's injuries, the officer's condition, charges, and the findings of any use-of-force investigation should be confirmed through official Bismarck law-enforcement records and reliable reporting.

WHAT HAPPENED BEFORE THE SHOOTING?

THE MOMENTS BEFORE THE GUNFIRE ARE CRUCIAL. Why was the woman being stopped? What happened when the SUV moved? How close was the officer to the vehicle, and what happened immediately after the shots were fired?

Bodycam footage can provide valuable context, but the video alone may not establish the complete legal or investigative picture.
